Volumetric mixing has been around for a long time. In
recent years, mixing by volume instead of weight has
been gaining acceptance and proven itself in government
and private applications. Volumetric concrete mixers
control the volume of each ingredient ... cement, sand,
rock, and water. Dry ingredients are stored in separate
bins and mixed on the truck according to the desired mix
instead of being mixed at a central batch plant.
Mix designs from one-bag mix to nine-bag mix can be produced
from a single load. Cleanup is quick and easy; simply
rinse out the small amount of residue in the mixing
auger after each job. No wasted concrete; no hot loads;
no shortages.
The mixer arrives on the job site. The driver adjusts
the material feed system to produce the desired mix.
Production starts immediately; the exactly metered
materials are fed into a mixer auger. The auger
can continuously mix the controlled quantities of cement,
sand, rock, and water at a rate of one yard per minute. All production is metered. When
your forms are filled, you simply stop the mixer -
producing only the concrete you need with no overruns.
